“Humanity has been in search of peace and happiness ever since its existence. It doesn’t matter if you’re a traveler or a sailor or anything, everyone wants to be happy in the end. When life chases us and presents us with its many challenges and complexities, us sailors see our ships as a way to escape from reality. Sometimes we sail alone, and sometimes we drag along our friends and family. Global Sailing, founded by a sailor family that has traveled the world by the Seven Seas and seen the world’s beauty in its majestic glory, is a house for those who see the seas as a gateway to freedom.

Mahmut Saral was born in 1984 in Sinop Turkey. He had been introduced to the sport of sailing at the age of 10 thanks to the Sinop Black Sea Sailing Specialization Club. Shortly after starting sailing in the optimist class, he achieved countless things all the way to the Turkey Championship, became a National Team Trainer and in this period, he achieved great degrees of success, including championship status in the Balkan, Europe and the Worldwide Championships for our country. Until graduating from Marmara University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Department of Econometrics which he started in 2003, he has been a trainer for Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray sailing clubs and after he graduated, he left the Turkey Sailing Federation which he worked in between 2008–2010, and founded the TRW Sailing Center and Team Red and White sailing team in Çeşme of İzmir. Joining the yacht races in the Bodrum and Marmaris regions, TRW Sailing Center achieved a bunch of sporting achievements and was in operation for 3 years and provided education and training for nearly 1000 kids and adults. He became a National Team Sporting Coordinator in the Turkey Sailing Federation between 2014-2015. In 2016, he became a part of the second ever group in Turkish sailing history to pass the Mt. Everest of the sailing world, situated in the southernmost region of South America, otherwise referred to as the Cape Horn. And that group’s name was: Anouk. In the same year, he became a member of the Turkey Sailing Federation Management Committee along with the Technical Committee. He continues to serve as the Vice President of the Gökova Sailing Club Sportsboat and Yacht Teams, which he joined in 2015, as well as the team captain and helmsman. He tied the knot with Deniz Karamanoğlu and had two children in 2017 and 2020, named Atlas and Azure.
